MISS DIG 811 has teamed up with MITA, holding our Annual Membership Meeting in conjunction with theirs at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI. The event is being held January 22nd to January 24th. We are excited to bring our members new educational opportunities as well as our time-tested member favorites. MISS DIG 811 knows that it is through knowledge and collaboration we are able to impact damage prevention; 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, MISS DIG is the conduit through which facility owners, contractors, and locators collaborate. Session Descriptions

Beyond the Basics: Ticket Search 
Looking to do more with Long-Term Ticket Search? Did you know that you can change the output columns on the search results? How about exporting the data to a spreadsheet for further analysis? Join us for 50 minutes of data fun and learn about how other facility owners are using these features in improve their damage prevention efforts.
 
Damage Reporting and Documentation 
A representative from the MPSC will discuss the legal requirements of damage reporting under PA 174.Excavators will learn aboutdamage reporting to the GSS. Facility owners, locators and contractors will benefit from learning how to document markings prior to excavation and what documents to maintain once a line has beendamaged.
 
Design Ticket Entry Training  
If you’re not quite ready to dig, but need to know where underground facilities are located, the Design Program (DSG) is an online ticket entry program for the planning phase of your project. The Design Program was introduced in 2006 to open the lines of communication between design/engineering firms and facility owners/operators. Using DSG, you can: process requests online 24/7; attach photos or files to your tickets; view and print tickets processed over the last six years; quickly access Positive Response to view the status of a request; and view tickets in the area of your work location placed by others. This session will provide the training needed to place design requests using a DSG account and discuss the benefits the program has to offer.
 
Facility Owner Database: Mapping Options  
Over-notification is an issue, but not receiving tickets you need is a great risk. During this 50-minute session we will cover how your notification areas determines receipt of tickets, the options available to keep notification areas updated, and how projections and maps used may impact your mapped database. At the end of the session you will have the tools to edit your mapped databases.

Gold Shovel Standard for Excavators 
A representative from Gold Shovel Standard will be on hand to discuss the program. Gold Shovel Standard is a nonprofit organization committed to improving workforce and public safety and the integrity of vital buried infrastructure. Participants will learn how Gold Shovel can help their organization with implementing a safety management system and tracking/reporting incidentswhile making them morecompetitive across the whole industry.
 
Gold Shovel Standard for Municipalities
A representative from Gold Shovel Standard will be on hand to discuss the program. Gold Shovel Standard is a nonprofit organization committed to improving workforce and public safety and the integrity of vital buried infrastructure. Participants will learn how Gold Shovel can help their municipality with protecting their vital infrastructure.
 
Inside the MISS DIG 811 Notification Center 
This session will give an inside overview of the daily operations of the MISS DIG 811 Notification Center. Information will be shared regarding the new “Language Line” and “No Marks” ticket. Join in for the opportunity to listen to recordings of actual calls being taken by an NSR (Notification System Representative) processing a locate request and receive helpful tips in placing a request. Notification Center Managers will be available to answer questions as well. 
 
IT Issues? Who to Contact
Do you sometimes find yourself with a MISS DIG 811 technical issue and you are not sure who is the best contact so you find yourself emailing or calling our employees aimlessly only to be redirected to another department? If you ever find yourself in this conundrum, this is the session for you. The MISS DIG 811 Systems Manager will lead this session for all stakeholders on who is the best first point of contact when it comes to technical assistance in regards to MISS DIG 811. 
 
Locator Action Committee
MISS DIG 811’s Locator Action Committee will convene to discuss topics concerning locators and other ticket related issues. 
 
Member Contact Updates 
Employee changes within your organization? Tired of receiving after-hour phone calls when you are not scheduled? The MISS DIG 811 Member Support Team will show you how to utilize contact updates by explaining the different contact types, how the contacts impact the asset(s) on the system, and tips and troubleshooting to help you maximize the benefits of these contact fields. 
 
Membership Overview  
Have you recently stepped into a new role? New to the MISS DIG 811 process? Join us for 50 minutes of MISS DIG 101. We will cover the different types of codes and accounts, member code set-up options, delivery options, rules, and the annual invoice. You will walk away with a better understanding of the jargon and how to make your codes and accounts work for you and your organization. 
 
MDPB Meeting
Come join us for the monthly meeting of the Michigan Damage Prevention Board, it is a place to review any comments or concerns regarding Damage Prevention. This committee drafts and approves Best Practices for the protection of underground facilities and thoseworkingnearthem. 
 
MISS DIG 811 Annual Meeting 
MISS DIG 811’s Annual Meeting will be held. Financial reports and call center statistics will be shared. This is an open session to everyone. Directors that were up for election will be announced.
 
MISS DIG 811 Answers Your Questions 
Join us as representatives from MISS DIG will be on hand to answer any MISS DIG related questions you may have.  
 
MISS DIG 811 Certification 
This program offers excavators training and information on several safety and facility damage prevention topics at no cost. The course explains, in detail, the MISS DIG 811 process and lays out damage prevention and safety practices.  It covers requirements for underground facility owners as well as clarifying requirements for those excavators working near underground lines. It provides practical, up-to-date tools which help navigate the process and bring about the most efficient, safe outcome possible.

MISS DIG 811 Certification qualifies for Continuing Education Credits for multiple professions. It also qualifies for the training portion of your company's safety management program, which is one of the requirements of becoming Gold Shovel Standard (GSS) Certified.  Upon completion of this session, participants will be MISS DIG 811 Certified. Certification is currently good for three years.

MISS DIG 811 Member Troubleshooting  
Technical issues can present problems to our members. We most often find these occur with ticket delivery and the downloading of Newtin Software. Issues may also present themselves upon attempting to log into Remote Member Access (RMA) accounts. Join us for basic troubleshooting tips, as well as a Q&A of common technical issues that you may have. 
 
Positive Response Posting  
Join the MISS DIG 811 Member Support Team to learn about Positive Response posting options, enhanced features available through your Remote Member Access accounts, and how your responses impact excavation and damage prevention.  
 
Practical Solutions for Collaboration: The Detroit Pilot
Collaboration reduces construction delays and bottom-line costs. MISS DIG 811’s pilot harnesses the resources of multiple vendors and MDOT’s G.U.I.D.E. to build a collaborative space, enabling the sharing of information from design to construction. Michigan’s aging infrastructure has placed collaboration at the forefront of discussion as a necessary component of asset management. The Notification Center can be the linchpin of collaboration, from strategic asset management to damage prevention.

Reports! Reports! Reports! 
MISS DIG 811 makes additional reports available to our membership each year. Through your Remote Member Access account, you can run reports that quickly get you the information and metrics needed. Join us as we discuss each report from the data it provides to what it might mean for your organization.  

RTE Training
Remote Ticket Entry (RTE) is a free, online program that is available to all excavators for creating and managing locate requests. Using RTE, you can: process new requests, re-transmit and cancel existing requests online 24/7; attach photos or files to your tickets; view and print tickets processed over the last six years; quickly access Positive Response to view the status of a request prior to going out to the job site; and view tickets in the area of your work location placed by others. This session will provide the training needed to place locate requests using an RTE account and discuss the benefits the program has to offer.
 
TIME Committee Meeting 
MISS DIG 811’s Ticket Initiation Management Execution Committee will meet to discuss current issues with the MISS DIG ticket system.
